My alarm rings at 5 am and I pull myself out of bed. I groan quietly, mumbling curses under my breath as I make my way to the bathroom, I brush my teeth as I scroll through Instagram.
I see a pic of Velvet.
She posted about her cat. The stubborn Maine Coon - Shade - was large with sharp greenish blue eyes, soft fur that was grey and black and sharp claws.
I smile when my eyes are met with hers on the post, she looked.... Beautiful. I turn off my phone and get in to take a shower.
I head downstairs after getting dressed, I roll my sleeves up and chop some veggies and toss them on the pan and fry them.
Step by Step, lunch was done, chicken pasta with some boiled eggs. I pack it all and make my way to my car.
I toss my bag in the back of the car. On my drive to school, I blast some music.

15 minutes Later
I arrive at school. Park. then get out, heading inside. My eyes were glued to my phone, I was watching Enola Holmes.
I bump into someone, I look up, annoyed. "Are You blind?, cant you see I'm trying to Watch a movi-"
I was met with Angelica's eyes. Ugh. "What now Angelica?, Im busy." I pocket my phone.
She glares at me. "What now?....What Now?!. We got into an argument last night. And now you're asking me, What now?!."
I sigh, bored. "Angelica. You started the argument, I just wanted to come to an agreement. Now If You'll excuse me, I have to go inside, Im busy. Waiting for someone."
Angelica crosses her arms, glaring at me, "waiting?". She scoffs, "No you're not. You're just waiting for that stupid bitch, Sophia."
I look at her, my hands slowly forming a fist. I take a deep breath in and out, to calm myself down. "She's not a bitch.....unlike you." I mumble the last part.
"Excuse Me?!", she screeches, stomping her foot hard. "What did you call me?".
"Nothing!", I say quickly, "Listen I really got to go." With that, I walk away. She really is a pain in the ass.
I head inside. Put my stuff inside and head outside to wait for Asher. On my way out the door, I feel someone bump into me. My arms instinctively wrapping around their waist.
"Ow, who kept a wall here." I chuckle, looking down to see Velvet.
"Geez, Velvet, watch you're going."
"Michael?", I see her eyes when she lifts her head, a flicker of surprise in them.
"The one an' only, Velvet." She realized something and jumped back from my grasp. Hah.
She ran past me, her cheeks radiating heat. I shrug, and look ahead to see Asher making his way to me. Already chatting.
I barely pay some attention to him, heading back to my locker, Asher just beside me, chatting about his girlfriend. As I enter my locker combo, I catch a glimpse of Sophia going into Math.
I get an idea. This is going to be fun.
"Asher. You should go, I see Lily over there." I gesture to Lilianne talking to Olivia. I sniffle a laugh when Asher nearly sprints down the hallway to get to Lily.
I head inside, and see her. Focused on something. I lean against the doorframe, my eyes roam over her frame. Her eyes which shone in the light. Her smile, which made me relax every time.
Her lips, soft, plump, I wanna kiss them. Her freckles, dusted across her cheeks like stars, if I could trace them every night... I would, and that scares me.
I make my way to her, walking in-between the desks, she gets up and walks towards me, eyes glued to her paper. I come to a stop, waiting for her to bump into me.
She does.
She nearly falls backwards, I wrap my arms around her waist, to steady her. She looks up at me, her eyes wide and round, caught off guard.
"Velvet darling, do you always bump into everyone or just me, mm?." Annoyance flickers in her eyes, before pushing herself away from me. She walks around me, places her paper on the teacher's desk.
"The world, doesnt revolve around just you, you know? I bump into everyone, you're not special."
I turn to face her, hand to my chest, pretending to be wounded by her jab, "Ouch, princess, you wound me", she looks up to meet my gaze. "After all. I thought you loved me."
I notice her gaze lingering on my mouth, it slowly curves up. "Whoever told you that, must be delusional." She sticks her tongue out at me, she's still the kid I knew. She walks past me, taking her seat.
The professor walks in, ready to start the lesson. Angelica walks in with her group, Lauren and Ashley. I ignore her and make my way up the stairs to the back.
I see Lily and Ash kiss. My steps falter before stopping near Velvet's desk. As I sit down, I hear her sigh. She looks over, "Michael, this isn't your seat."
I lean back, and smirk at her, "Why? I focus better with you here." My lips curve up higher as she sighs again. I lean closer, "Do I distract you? Can you not focus with me here?."
I felt the heat radiating from her cheeks, her eyes falling to the ground as she pursed her lips together, she then stutters out, "W-what?! Of course I can focus, you being here doesn't change that."
I shrug, "We'll see about that, Velvet." I turn away and flip through my notebook.
Poems. Paragraphs. Hundreds. Of Her.
Her eyes are a drug, I got high on and could never get enough of.
Her eyes are a labyrinth, I want to roam forever.
Her eyes, a masterpiece, made with the most care by the gods.
Her eyes, which no artist can paint exactly.
Her smile which makes my heart beat faster.
Her smile rivals the moon's beauty and the sun's light.
Her smile which heals even the most broken of hearts.
Her Hugs, which everyone can't get enough of.
Her hugs, which make me cling longer than I want to.
Her hugs, makes me crave it every night.
Her laugh which is as melodious as the violins.
Her laugh which brighten up the entire room.
Her laugh, makes everyone just wanna hear it one more time.
Her blush rivals the vibrant sunsets.
I close my notebook, look up and just stare at her. The way her hair falls around her shoulders. The way her lips purse. The way her eyes are bright, focused.
The way her jaw curves. The way her fingers wrap around the pen while write.
She tenses. "What do u want." Her voice breaks my train of thoughts.
I blink my eyes, smiling at her. "Nothing just... admiring your beauty Velvet", winks at her.
I bite my smile, seeing her cheeks flush, she turns away, avoiding eye contact. "Shut up and stop lying too."
"Velvet?... are you.... distracted?", I lean back waiting for her outburst, for her to give me an earful.
Then I hear him.
Ugh.
"Sophia, Michael, have something to share with the class?", I see Sophia tense, I look up at that bastard. He had a glint in his eyes.
"sorry, Mr. Smith." She says, I look at her, noticing her fidgeting with her fingers. Hmm.
"Oh really, Sophia? Michael?."
I nod, he turns to leave, talking back to the class about math shit.
I hear a breath of relief. "Idiot. What'd you distract me for?". I grin widely. It felt like an accomplishment. It's not easy to distract her. But I did. Heh.
I look back towards my notebook, jotting down some more lines.
She bites her lip when nervous.
Fingers twisting each other.
Her eyes dart around, finding an esca-.
I freeze. Feeling her gaze burn a hole Into me. Looks up, seeing her stare at me. I smirk.
"Velvet darling. You're staring." Her eyes focus, the same flush clings to her cheeks. She looks up, meeting my gaze. I maintain the eye contact. The bell rings loudly.
I snap back, watching her get up and rush out the door. Sigh.
I get up and walk out on the field. Headphones in, blasting the song, 'I hate you, I Love you.'
"Sophia."
I hear her name, faintly, and freeze, looks up to see a group of boys whispering and snickering.
I remove one of my earbuds and put in my pocket, listening on their conversation, leaning against the tree. Scrolling through my phone, putting up an act.
"Yeah. Sophia is such a quiet girl, but I bet she ain't quiet in bed. Hahaha!"
"Hah! Yeah, maybe we should just corner her, see what she does."
"We could! She's so quiet, but her beauty ain't quiet."
My grip tightened on the phone. Each comment digging a wound in my chest. I wouldn't beat them up. I gave my word to her that I would never get into a fight again.
"Bet she's a slu-". His words were cut off by my punch. My phone was discarded, I couldn't think straight. I pinned him to the ground and punched him again and again.
Untill my knuckles bled along with his nose.
He pushes me off. Punches back. Asshole. We get into a full on brawl. I couldn't even process what I was doing, I twisted his arm, pinned It to his back and pushed him against the tree.
"If you say another thing like that about her again, I swear to god, I will shove a knife through that disgusting mouth of yours."
He smirks despite the pain. "Ah. I get It now. She's your little bitch isnt she?"
I lost consciousness. I twisted his arm back Harder making him scream in Pain. Good. Let him.
It took 3 People to pull me away From him. He was unconscious. I got sent to the Office and received an earful.
I got dismissed and walked out, jaw clenched. They're words racing through my mind. I remembered I had cook club and walk there. The thought of Velvet in an apron made me smile.
I saw her like that many times yet I always crave to see more of her like that. I peek In through the sliver of the door and watch her embrace Lily.
"Hello Angel", Lily said, welcoming the embrace.
"hello darling", Velvet squeals and jumps on her, hugging tightly.
I step in, walking silently towards them both. I gesture to the rest of them to shush. They muffle their laughter.
"Is he here yet?", Velvet asks Lily, voice muffled.
To which Lily replies, "Who? Michael? No, he isn't here yet."
"Finally!". Velvet jumps back from Lily, excited. I smile. "That idiot, Finally forgot to attend a meeting."
I chuckle quietly, "Hahah! Did you really think that I'll miss a day Velvet?, I chuckle once more. I reach out, ruffling her hair as she stood there, speechless. stunned.
The rest of the club tries to maintain the muffling of their snickers and giggles. "Anyways! gather up." I order them, they all stop their laughter abruptly. Crowding the table.
